Seal Diving Plettenberg Bay – A Once-in-a-Lifetime Marine Encounter
Experience one of the most unforgettable underwater adventures with Seal Diving Plettenberg Bay, where you can dive alongside playful Cape Fur Seals in their natural marine environment. Located near the stunning Robberg Nature Reserve, this unique scuba experience allows divers to witness these intelligent and graceful animals up close beneath the waves.
Although seals may appear awkward on land, they transform into incredibly agile and curious creatures underwater. During your dive, you may see them swimming around you, blowing bubbles, and approaching with curiosity for an experience you will never forget.
Dive With Cape Fur Seals at Robberg Nature Reserve
Your Seal Diving Plettenberg Bay adventure begins at the dive centre, where an experienced seal guide will welcome you, assist with equipment preparation, and provide a briefing before your ocean journey.
After getting ready, the group will take a short walk to the beach before boarding the boat. Your skipper and seal guide will explain the boat procedures and provide important information about the seal dive experience.
A short 10-minute boat ride takes you to the Robberg Peninsula, home to a large Cape Fur Seal colony. The dive takes place in shallow water between 4 and 6 metres, making it suitable for qualified divers of various experience levels.
An Incredible Underwater Wildlife Experience
During the dive, you will spend approximately 30 minutes underwater exploring the seal colony with your professional guide.
The seals are naturally playful and curious, often swimming close to divers and creating unforgettable moments. Their intelligence, movement, and interaction make this one of the most unique scuba diving experiences available along the Garden Route.
Furthermore, the shallow dive conditions provide excellent opportunities to enjoy the marine environment while feeling comfortable and relaxed underwater.
